poet John has put his love for the
Magpies and
his hometown city into verse for this captivating new film.
For John – who
entertains football fans from all
over
the world in his role as a St. James’ Park tour guide – the production
of this

over 50 years and I’ve always
been passionate about my home and my poetry, so Verses United was

in Verses United, performing a spine-tingling version of The Blaydon
Races that
is just one of many highlights on the DVD. And the much sought-after
work of
top north east artist Dick Gilhespy is also included, helping to
illustrate
some of John’s childhood memories.
